No Bad Rays is Live (and a Little Dusty)
Hey everyone.
I’m Kinny Tolbert, and this is No Bad Rays.
If you’re reading this, welcome to the new home. The site just went live and it’s still under construction. Things might look a little unorganized for a bit while I keep building out galleries, refining pages, and getting everything dialed in. Thanks for your patience while the dust settles.
I started this because light has always been the thing that stops me in my tracks. Golden hour across the Oklahoma plains. The way color explodes when the sun drops low. Lightning cracking over water. The quiet details in macro work. The stars on a clear night when the sky opens up. Live events where the energy is high and the light is constantly changing. That’s the stuff I chase.
No Bad Rays came from a simple idea. There are no bad rays.
Every kind of light has something to offer if you’re willing to look for it. Soft morning light. Harsh midday sun. The blue hour. The glow after a storm. Even the light that most people walk past. I’ve spent years learning to see it, chase it, and hold onto the feeling of the moment instead of just the scene.
Right now the site is a work in progress. You’ll find a mix of landscapes, live events, astro, and the beginnings of more portrait and wedding work. Corporate projects are on the horizon for next year too. I’m building this place one gallery at a time so it actually reflects the work I love making.
What I love most is simple. Color. Atmosphere. The drama of natural light. The quiet satisfaction of nailing a frame when everything lines up. Sharing those frames with people who feel the same pull toward light and color.
I’m grateful you’re here at the beginning. Grateful for the chance to build something that feels true to the way I see the world. Grateful for every ray that shows up, good or complicated, because they all show us something.
Stick around. The galleries will keep growing. The dust will settle. And there will always be more light to chase.
There are no bad rays.
See you out there.
Kinny
